IFMC - IL QIO Governing Body

The Illinois Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) contract awarded to IFMC - IL by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), is governed by a Governing Body up to 15 members. The Governing Body provides guidance to the leadership team for the QIO contract. The membership is intended to reflect the customers and communities we serve. The Governing Body includes Medicare consumers and advocates; quality improvement and patient safety leaders from hospitals, nursing homes and health plans; physicians; pharmacy representatives, and other individuals as appropriate.

Governing Body members are appointed to three-year terms and may serve no more than two consecutive terms for a majority of the members. A minority of the members can serve three consecutive terms. Terms are staggered so approximately one-third of the group is appointed each year. Governing Body members are compensated $750 per meeting for their service; $250 for conference calls.
